DateRate

No there isn't a typo in the title; this is not about Date Rape. This is about a website that desperately needs to be made...DateRate.

Ever dated a complete asshole that cheated or mooched? Ever wasted a few months (and paychecks) on a woman who decided she'd rather dump you to get back with her douche boyfriend? Then DateRate my friend will be your lifesaver.

Imagine a website that not only has a full dating profile which lists interest and compatibility, but also has anonymous customer satisfaction ratings. You wouldn't buy a car if you knew it was a lemon, right? Then why would you spend your time and money on a person who's a lemon? I'm not trying to compare people to goods; I merely feel that it’s about time for the web to be honest.

If you are a sweet, loving, honest, caring, and charismatic person, as you claim you are, then no worries, your reviews will reflect it! However, if your inflated sense of self has blinded you to your imperfections, then maybe this will be a good wake up call for you! Maybe its time to learn to be a good person.

On DateRate everyone has a say. If you receive negative feedback, you will have the opportunity to either defend yourself or apologize for your actions.

On DateRate honesty is key. As you set up your profile you will list each individual you have ever dated (their names will not appear on your profile), an email will be sent to each of your past partners requesting their review.

Nobody is perfect, but, by being honest with ourselves, maybe we can get one step closer to perfection.

DateRate.

Lysistrata 2.0

Have you heard of the recent sex strike which enabled Philipino women to bring an end to  years of village violence?? Click the link bellow and be amazed.

http://www.care2.com/causes/sex-strike-brings-peace-video.html

Aren't they your new heroes?? I laughed at Lysistrata and her pack of Greco followers for thinking that sex could bring an end to violence...

But shit, who knew it could work!!

Think of the possibilities!! If all us lady-folk gave up on sex, we could like totally stop our involvement in the middle east! Come on now, lets think this through...there could be peace in Libya, North and South Korea could get along, we could even have immigration reform!! If we stopped dishing out the poonani we could get men to stimulate the economy instead by buying us shit to earn back sex!!! WE COULD RULE THE WORLD!!!!!!

A girl can dream, right?

Have a creative idea on how to bring about world peace? Comment bellow!

I fail

Why do I suck so hard at blogging? Its not like I'm purposefully not submitting new discussions, or that I can't come up with anything to type about. I'm a chatty Cathy, discussions occur to me every time, however, there seems to be a disconnect between by brain and fingers. When I get in front of my computer I get wrapped up in my self-consciousness. I become a figurative mute. Who the hell wants to read what I've got to say anyway? I don't even feel like reading this crap lol. My page has had 38 views, and yet there isn't a single comment. Let me clarify, I don't expect anyone to comment, in fact, I rarely ever comment on anything on the web. Lord knows it takes too much effort. Everyone expects you to be so god damn witty. I would like to sincerely apologize to the 38 nameless, faceless individuals out there who took the time to read my shit. Thank you for wasting your time on me lol

Fear

Yesterday marked the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. Today, outside of the San Jose Mineta Airport, the threat level warning reads Elevated-- for significant risks of terrorist attack. Since 9/11 we have been in constant awareness of the fragility of our nations security. We have slept with one eye open, and we have vowed to never forget. We have allowed our leaders to strip us of our basic freedoms, namely the right to privacy, all in the hope of keeping the eminent threat of terrorism at bay.

Fear is the most basic of survival methods. Fear is what keeps us safe. However, fear when used by a political authority can cripple a nation and bring the masses to their knees. In ancient Greece, Athens used the threat of a Persian attack to secure its authority over neighboring tribes. Hitler during WW2 used fear and paranoia as the driving force behind the slaughter and imprisonment of millions of innocent civilians. Today, fear has made us paranoid of luggage, suspicious of our neighbors, and hateful of people different than us.

I do not mean to minimize anyone's personal response to the attack. Everyone was a victim of 9/11, we were all violated, and we were all threatened. But, there comes a time when we need to stand and face our fears, when we must say that enough is enough. This is not about forgetting, it is about forgiving. We should honor those that have died by promoting peace. We should unite as brothers and sisters, as one nation, and put aside our religious differences if only for a second to reflect on our common humanity. Let us not let fear and hate reign over our lives. Instead, let us allow peace to live in our hearts.
